Wholemeal bread is the healthiest, white bread is still quite healthy, but white breads with added sugar are much less healthy. Overall, bread, even white bread, is much healthier than many other flour-based foods (such as cakes and biscuits) and than many other foods, so I wouldn’t ever worry about eating too much bread.
Sometimes supermarkets add oil to bread to keep it soft over its life, and salt to provide flavour. If you make bread at home rather than buy it, you can control avoid adding fat, so it might turn out healthier.
