• Question: What is your favourite type of graph?i like line graphs.

      Thanks, lordjoshy7. I like x-y graphs. Line graphs are okay if the thing you’re changing changes in equal sizes. But more often, things don’t change with equally sized increments, so x-y graphs are more generally useful. Also, you can develop equations to describe the relationships on x-y graphs – and when you can describe things with mathematical equations, then you are starting to get really deep and useful understanding.
      Pie graphs are less useful for understanding, but they can look pretty!
      (By the way, I hate graphs that are presented in a dull way. Graphs are an opportunity to create something that communicates really well by using lines, colours and symbols in clever and elegant ways.)
