If you have to choose one thing to eat more of, eat more bran (or any sort of fibre), by increasing your consumption of wholemeal and oat bread, porridge, and fruit and vegetables.

If you want to cut one thing out of your diet that will have a big effect on your health, cut out sugar – choose sugar free drinks, don’t put sugar in your tea or coffee, don’t add it to your breakfast cereal.

Healthy eating is not about specific choices, it’s about habits – having generally good habits (like choosinghealthy breakfast cereals every day) and avoiding bad habits (like having sugar in your tea – train yourself to enjoy tea without sugar).
