• Question: If you ate not fully cooked bread would you be drunk because of the alcohol caused by the yeast?

      No – yeast can produce both carbon dioxide and alcohol, but in bread it’s carbon dioxide we want, to make the dough rise, so the yeast operates such that it produces lots of CO2 and not much alcohol, certainly not enough to get you even a little bit drunk.
