A few years ago I heard about the miracle fruit. Apparently, if you eat it, it converts your perception of acidity to one of sweetness, so a lime or lemon won’t taste at all sour, just amazingly sweet! I managed to get hold of some and it is amazing. The first time I tried it I ate 5 limes in one go, without even wincing! They were so lovely and sweet and delicious. So while the miracle fruit itself doesn’t taste of much, it changes the taste of everything else!

Pumpkin Pie! Not as interesting as Rachel’s, I’ll admit, but it’s one of those things you hear of as you’re growing up and think it sounds disgusting, but it’s actually gorgeous.
(And you can make a joke about it.)

I’ve heard of one I didn’t want to try, called durian fruit found in south east Asia. It smells so bad that it is banned from many hotels, buses and trains. When I went to Malaysia got me to try Durian flavoured ice cream which was OK but the fruit does smell absolutely rank!
