      Not that I am aware of. But they can affect us in many other ways. If they are the non-diet ones they contain a lot of sugar and consumption of large amounts of sugar contribute to obesity and diabetes. The phosphoric acid in many soft drinks if consumed in large amounts has been shown to interfere with calcium uptake and be involved in the reduction of bone density and osteoporosis.
