      Bacteria bugs digest the same sort of way that we and all animals do. They use special substances called enzymes that break the complex food up into small chemicals that they can absorb into themselves and these are what they use to live and grow. Bacteria are attracted to different foods depending on the bacteria. Some of them are able to swim to find the best source of food that they like. Most of them are able to use lots of different foods.
      The average daily intake is really hard to work out, and this is a really good question.
