• Question: could there be other animals in our food

      If you mean like the recent news of horse meat in our food, then yes it is possible. But very unlikely. Food manufacturers are very careful to make sure that they know what they are putting into their food. And the recent horse meat problems now mean that they will be testing their ingredients even more.

      I agree with Duncan – checks will be even more controlled now following the horsemeat scandal. I used to visit a lot of food factories as part of my job, and I remember once going to a factory that made tins of evaporated and condensed milk and they were able to trace each tin back to the actual cows that produced the milk! It was really impressive.
